Gone Fishin.... and Then to College.

This week we had to say goodbye to Aunt Leesha, Aunt Sarah, and Uncle Levi as they headed off to college... the hurricane on the east coast gave us a little more precious family time so we headed out to the farm to go fishing and just be together.

By the end of the night almost the whole family was there.
No small thing when you consider that is nearly thirty people.
I took tons of pictures but half of them were with Leesha's camera...
so here is me making the most of what I got...

More blogging soon, now that our summer is slowing down and school is about to begin!
Bella's first year in just less than a week!

Anywhere But Home

This week has been busy, and its only half over.
We have more appointments and plans this week than we normally have in a month.

Every evening we are running around in the minivan with snacks and caffeine,
out much past our bedtimes.... even mine.

I find myself longing for a normal night at home where Daddy arrives to great fanfare right before dinner and afterward wrestles the big kids into exhaustion while I cuddle with Vivi on the couch.

Even in the midst of the busyness of this week we have found moments that are simple and sweet.
Daniel telling Daddy  before bed all about the ferris wheel he rode last week.
And asking "Idin't dat Essiting Dad?".... (translation "Isn't that exciting Dad?")

This week Tommy told my Mom he doesn't want to build houses or be a fireman...
he just wants to be a Daddy.

Is it any wonder that's his answer?

Bella asking everyday, "How many sleeps till Daddy has no work in the morning?"

They all miss him when he's at work. This morning Daniel kept yelling from the kitchen that Daddy was here. I felt bad and kept saying "not yet baby."

But he kept insisting that he was "here"... a few minutes later he ran into the kitchen with my cell phone. Sure enough Tom was calling and his picture was on the screen.
The two year old was quite proud of himself and said "See Mom!?"

Life with the little people is hectic and overwhelming.
But even when we can't find any time to just be at home together we find little moments of cute.
Things that make your heart swell up and unreasonably make it all worth it.

And last but not least....
at this point on this evening Vivi needed a bottle so i handed Tom the camera...
he decided that he would hide and when he jumped out to scare them he would take a picture....

Oh Danny Boy.....

I am deep in the potty training trenches with Daniel.
He has always been a... different sort.
He is not compliant or easy going.
Sweet and loving yes... but with a mind of his own.
For example about three hours after his birth he was going on about... oh... three hours of crying.
Yeah. Never have I felt like I needed a break from my three hour old baby before.
But I was tired and he was LOUD, this should have been my first clue.

Anyway its been rough, slow but good progress... but I am to exhausted to blog about it.
Instead I would now like to harken back to a simpler time a week ago when Daniel wore pants at all times and didn't have a "squirt gun" at his constant disposal.

These are not even sort of in chronological order....

Vivian has tried cereal and is not impressed.
However she doesn't like being left alone while we eat so we have started bringing her to sit with us at the table. This was our first dinner together as a family of six.

If I'd have known I would have done better than pizza on paper plates and leftover nachos.
But then again why put on a show? Let's keep it real, wouldn't want them to get used to the real silverware... or eating vegetables....

I am so very in love with this baby. The fact that she is the only one left who has not peed on every floor of my house probably helps her to seem more adorable.

If you thought that was crowded check out our play date/ lunch date....

Two Uncles and six cousins.... and two more cousins not at the table yet... they were swinging and bouncing and watching praise baby in the living room. Someday soon we won't all fit!

This is an awful picture of me but I found it hilarious because I didn't see Isaac behind me until I looked at it on the computer.

My boys are a little obsessed with "wooking".
I hope this lasts into a time when they are able to push a lawn mower.

His goggles are just a tad tight I think...

And this is what happens when you have girls directing the boys.....

Super baby...

Isabella has taken to dressing herself lately... She loves purple... can you tell?

Bella has about a million princess dresses... Tommy has a Buzz jumpsuit.

Bella thought she would see what all the fuss was about.

She liked it for about five minutes, then she went back to her sparkle and tulle.
Glad she can try new things though.

Random pool time...

Tommy trying to get AJ to blow bubbles with the pool water.
We are out of bubble stuff apparently.

Bella reading my weight watchers magazine.

And a random picture of AJ looking summery....

So there you have it... a whole lot of nothing really.
My brain is fried and it is all I can do not to consume all the M&M's I have bought for Daniel's reward's..... I will have another fudge bar however....

This too shall pass, I will blog better tomorrow, my house will smell better someday,
when they are all grown I will rent a carpet scrubber.... or move.
